During Quarter 2, our classroom lessons will focus on the following:
Two small groups will be offered during Quarter 2: Book Club and Dealing with Anger The purpose of Book Club is to explore the common themes of resiliency in a book, The One and Only Stuey Lewis. We will work on building reading confidence, support literacy elements students are learning in the classroom, as well as build student’s resiliency skills. Feeling angry or mad at times is a natural, normal part of life. However, in order to be successful in life we need to learn how to manage and deal with our angry feelings in an appropriate way. In our Dealing with Anger small group, we will explore the triggers of our anger and then build the skills to handle that area more effectively. Topics will include: Dealing with Disagreements Feeling Teased/Left Out Dealing with Corrections What to Do When Things Feel Unfair Both Book Club and Dealing with Anger are currently full. If you would like your child to participate in a small group in the future, please notify your child's teacher.
